Exercising before breakfast is more beneficial for a figure

Exercising before the first meal of the day helps to reduce weight, making diets more effective. Exercises on an empty stomach not only burn more calories and allow you to quickly remove a few extra centimeters at the waist, but also reduce the risk of clogging of the arteries with cholesterol.

Of course, the benefits of exercise in general are generally known to everyone. But many people still were not sure exactly when to do it: before or after breakfast.

Dr. Jason Gill, a researcher at the University of Glasgow, says the body relies exclusively on its “internal energy” reserves for physical work on an empty stomach, burning them, not just the calories it has just eaten. "When people say that exercising before breakfast helps to lose weight, they really mean that it helps," he said. And his statement is far from groundless.

In his laboratory, located at the Institute "Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences", he assembled a group of subjects and for several days feeding them breakfast carried out the necessary tests and analyzes. On the first day, subjects simply enjoyed food and pleasant company. In the second half, they were sent for an energetic walk before breakfast, and the other half were sent for a run after.

The results of subsequent tests were obvious. Those who decided to go for a run before eating burned 33% more calories than those who preferred exercise after breakfast. In their blood, cholesterol levels also fell more, which is very beneficial for the heart.

Dr. Gill believes that long workouts before breakfast do not harm or lead to exhaustion. Indeed, in the morning our body has a natural reserve of energy for at least 90 minutes, and this is two whole hours of active physical exercise.
