Gerard Depardieu, apparently, does not miss a single opportunity to earn extra money in his new homeland. Some time ago, he became the face of the project “I am proud to be Russian”, which involves the release of patriotic watches with the symbols of Russia. And the other day, the actor admitted that he would like to give such a watch to President Putin.

Depardieu was shocked by the news that in Russia there is a sign that giving watches is for separation. The actor doubted that such a doubtful belief could be invented by his new compatriots.

It is curious that in Europe, the advertising of watches, headed by Depardieu, was perceived very negatively. The actor was even accused of supporting Stalinism. Gerard was not at a loss and answered the offenders very sharply. He stated that the double-headed eagle has nothing to do with Stalinism, since it symbolizes the great Russia. Depardieu noted that watches produced in Russia were always famous for their quality, because at one time the Swiss themselves chased the Rocket chronometers with the image of a red star.
