The main principle of this salad is to lay all products in layers. Some housewives smear each layer with mayonnaise, while others pour over a ready-made salad on top of them. A product requiring clothing can be herring, any kind of meat, liver, mushrooms, etc. There is also an "empty" coat that can be cooked in fasting or for vegetarians.

The preparation of products for this salad mainly consists in cooking and peeling vegetables, and then chopping them in small cubes or on a coarse grater. Recipe 1: Salad coat "Traditional" (herring under a fur coat)

Ingredients
Beets of medium size - 1 pc.;
potatoes - 2 pcs.;
large carrots - 1 pc.;
onion - 1 pc.;
herring - 1 pc. or herring fillet - 2 pcs.;
mayonnaise;
vegetable oil - 2 tables. lies .;
boiled egg - 1 pc.;
green onions.
Cooking method
Separately, cook the beets, potatoes and carrots, cool them, peel and grate coarsely. Peel herring, disassemble on fillet. Cut the onion and herring into small cubes.
Dice the whole herring tightly at the bottom of the oval dish, chopped onion on top of it and pour evenly with vegetable oil. Recipe 2: Fur Coat Salad with Meat
A hearty salad in which everything that is available to you can serve as a meat component - boiled tongue, chicken, beef, fried pork, poultry (including smoked) and just any sausage.
Ingredients
Any prepared meat - 200 g;
butter - 50 g;
hard cheese - 50 g;
green apple - 1 pc.;
boiled egg - 2 pcs.;
purple (regular) onion - 1 pc.;
salt;
vinegar;
mayonnaise.
Cooking method
Cut the meat and onions into small cubes. Grate apple, hard cheese and eggs. Spread the products on the prepared dish in layers, each of which is carefully smeared with mayonnaise. First, meat, salt and pepper it, grease with mayonnaise. Then - onion, drizzle with vinegar, grease with mayonnaise. Next - grated eggs, slightly salt and flavor with mayonnaise. Ingredients
Lightly salted herring - 1 pc.;
boiled eggs - 3 pcs.;
large potatoes - 3 pcs.;
average beets - 2 pcs.;
mayonnaise;
parsley;
gelatin - 15 g.
Cooking method
Peel the carrots and potatoes, cook them in a large amount of water, adding onion, bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste. In a separate pan, boil the beets, and at this time put the gelatin to swell.
Cut herring into small cubes. Grate carrots, eggs, beets and potatoes separately. Dissolve gelatin in the vegetable broth (300 ml) left over from cooking potatoes with carrots. From this amount, pour 70 ml, and mix the rest with mayonnaise.
A mixture of gelled broth and mayonnaise is carefully added to the ingredients individually, but not in the herring.

Recipe 4: Salad "Empty Fur Coat"
An alternative to all meat and fish "fur coats". Great for vegetarians or fasting.
Ingredients
Pickled (salted) cucumbers - 4 pcs.;
medium potatoes - 4 pcs.;
boiled eggs - 4 pcs.;
onion - 1 pc.;
large beets - 1 pc.;
mayonnaise.
Cooking method
Boil potatoes and beets individually in a peel and cool. Cut cucumbers, potatoes and egg whites into small cubes. Coarsely grate the beets. Lay the layers on the dish in this order, each smearing with mayonnaise: cucumbers, potatoes, squirrels, beets. Grease the salad on top with mayonnaise and sprinkle with yolks, mashed with a fork.
