As it turned out, avoiding intestinal infections can be helped by the introduction of legumes into your diet, which are an excellent preventive product against diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Similar conclusions were drawn by American scientists who conducted experiments on laboratory rats for two weeks, enriching their diet with isoflavones, which are part of legumes. And then they were also fed normal refined sugar for 14 days.

During the entire period of laboratory research, rodent feces were collected. The results surprised scientists: it turned out that lactic acid bacteria, which were extremely beneficial for the body, were found in the digestive tract of rodents only when they were offered legumes. Sweets obtained in excess led to gastrointestinal disease in rats, which, according to researchers, caused intestinal bacteria.

Based on the data obtained during the study, scientists hope to develop a new drug that helps restore intestinal microflora in humans.
